She used to spend hours and hours in sports hall to prepare a competition that last just a few minutes, hard works and sacrifices that Vera faced with determination: grace and elegance, force and balance, precision and stubbornness, fundamental elements in sporting training, as wall as an life stile too, took her on top of the world.

Вера Шиманская Олимпийская чемпионка по художественной гимнастике, показала правильную методику безупречной подготовке к состязанию. Она проводила час за часом в спортивном зале, что бы подготовить выступление, которое длится всего несколько минут, жесткая требовательность и жертвенность, которую Вера проявляла неизменно: грация и элегантность, сила и гармония, точность и упорство, основные элементы в ее работе, в сочетании с вдохновением, подняли ее к вершинам мирового спорта.

22-nd Festival “Sport Movies & TV – 2004”, held under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic, was completed in Milan. 204 films-finalists from 88 countries-participants took part in it. Russia was presented by the film of our Olympic champion Vera Shimanskaya “Five Elements of Rhythmic Gymnastics”, which won the victory in hard struggle against many worthy claimants upon the most prestigious nomination “Olympic Spirit”. Suffice to say that the main claimant upon the sports “Oscar” was high budgetary film shot by the Hollywood studio “Universal”, “Pele Forever”, which was presented at the Festival by the king of football Mr. “O’Rey” – Pele in person. The International Judges estimated at its true worth the creative idea of the film as well as the individual masterly performance of the main heroine. In the magnificent Palazzo”Guriccorsulti” in the centre of Milan in the presence of vast audience Vera Shimanskaya was presented with the “Guirlande D’ Honneur at the Career”, the reward,’ honoured to personalities, who have significally operated in sports, its cultural and social values. For the first time in the Festival’s existence the Gurland was presented to the Russian sportswoman.

В Милане завершился 22 Фестиваль «Спортивного кино и телевидения-2004», проходивший под высоким патронажем Президента Итальянской Республики, в котором принимали участие 204 фильма-финалиста из 88 стран-участниц. Россию представил фильм нашей Олимпийской чемпионки Веры Шиманской «Пять стихий художественной гимнастики», который в тяжелой борьбе со многими достойными претендентами одержал победу в самой престижной номинации «Olympic spirit».
Достаточно сказать, что главным претендентом на спортивный «Оскар» являлся высоко бюджетный фильм, снятый голливудской студией “Юниверсал”, «Pele Forever», который на фестивале представлял лично сам король футбола мистер «O’Rey» - Пеле.
Международное жюри по достоинству оценило творческую мысль фильма и индивидуальное исполнительское мастерство главной героини.
В великолепном дворце “Guriccorsulti” в центре Милана, в присутствии огромной аудитории Вере Шиманской была вручена “Гирлянда почета в карьере», которой удостаиваются люди сделавшие значительный вклад в спорт, его культурные и социальные ценности. И впервые за 23 года существования фестиваля Гирлянда была вручена Русской спортсменке.
